ABM is trying to ticket me when I was parked on a public road. There were no parking meters. No gate. And no signs stating I couldn't be parked. I was not violating any parking statutes according to salt lake city. Yet a parking attendant "of 16 years" seems to think he can charge people in a public road for extra pocket money. The adjudicator Natalie wouldn't let me finish a sentence cause when her poorly trained employee tried to violate my civil rights and got rude immediately, I got upset. Company needs to train their people starting with management obviously. They need to quit ripping the public off. I was not parked in their gated parking lot they were charging to park in.

Update: ABM finally had to drop their fake ticket with me. They couldn't push it further I'm sure due to having no proof of me on their private lot. And of course the very unprofessional Natalie cant even apologize or admit she was in the wrong. She also ghosted me on sending the picture of my car and where it was parked after she said she would.

Very poor service, I called on Kiosk for help because I am a monthly parking member, and I couldn’t get through the gate. The payment is up to date. The person who picked up the call just simply said, “Just get a ticket” and I asked why? I have the badge for monthly parking, and she said, “Just get a ticket” then she hung up on me. If I could give 0 I would.

2024 UPDATE: they keep raising the rates for monthly parking even though they’re not paying anyone to be there now when their system fails or your pass is unexpectedly deactivated. They also installed a Bluetooth system that’s supposed to just let you in, but only provided what I can assume is only half the instructions to set it up. And woe be unto him who tries to get questions answered by phone or online because getting anything done remotely is impossible. But, on the flip side, in-person stuff is just as frustrating. I swear every time I try to get something done in the office, the person looks totally befuddled, as if they didn’t realize until just that moment that they worked for a parking facility. I wish there were a zero-star option. Or a negative star for that matter. If you have options, I’d highly advise using any other company than ABM.

ORIGINAL REVIEW:
Totally inefficient company. Besides the ridiculous cost (which is rising) for a monthly pass, they are more than happy to take your money but won’t activate your parking pass for days. They’ll deactivate your pass without warning if something goes wrong with your payment, so you get to find out there’s an issue as you’re trying to get into the lot. You can’t get the issue resolved in the office, either. I found out my payment was three bucks short. So I had to pay for a full day of parking. Went to the office, gave my three bucks, and you’d think they’d just re-activate the pass, right? Nope. I don’t know what system they use, but they took my money, said they’ll “get it to my manager” and then sent me on my way. My pass hasn’t worked since then. For the asinine amount of money it costs to park in their lot, you’d think they’d have a system that gets your pass working when you pay for it. These guys are crooks.

Shadiest coming ever. Better business bureau needs to get involved. Their model is to monopolize all the parking, jack up the price, then extort their customers and employees.

Use the garage under Gallivan Plaza frequently. Usually very pleasant and convenient. At 6pm on September 6, 2022, stopped in, grabbed some ice cream, no line, and immediately tried to leave. Cashier said the cost was $12. Thought she was being funny because the minimum charge for up to 1/2 hour is only $3 and we'd been there less than 10 minutes. She said we'd been there since 10am. We suggested something was wrong with the machine, she suggested we were liars. My wife took offense to that and started spouting all the reasons that was impossible and how we could prove it - receipts from the restaurant across town we had just come from before deciding to get ice cream, video footage of the car at other locations throughout the day, GPS data, etc. and insisted we would not pay what we didn't owe. Cashier said we could stay in the garage until we worked it out with ABM. We backed up, tried to call, but didn't have a good enough signal. I looked at the ticket again. At first glance it looked like it said 1003, but then I realized it was an 1803 (6:03pm on a 24 hour clock) but the center line hadn't printed. Fortunately, the indentations for sides of the 8 were barely visible and the difference could be distinguished from the 0 next to it. I figured it would be an easy fix to point it out to the cashier, but she said she couldn't see it. She called her boss and was told to let us out. I realized as we pulled out that she hadn't taken any money, so I pulled back around to pay. She just had us leave again without paying at all. When I got home I recalled that the tickets have sequential serial numbers that could have easily proven the time couldn't be 1003 and must have been 1803. Would have avoided the whole surreal event and the cashier and my wife could be at peace. Instead, I'm writing this long review as a compromise to my wife instead of calling ABM to complain because her birthday was soured by the experience.

Be forewarned ABM will punish you if you work for a company that they have disagreements with even if those disagreements have nothing to do with you. They will ask you when inquiring for a monthly pass on where you are employed. Don't be surprised if you find out that they will not offer you a pass at any garage anywhere in SLC that is owned by ABM. Also don't be surprised when they give you this information in the rudest way possible.

I was originally recommended to reach out and inquire about monthly passes by an employee at one of the garages that I had been parking at during my first few months at a new job. I had become friends with the attendants at the garage, as I was seeing them frequently and in turn they gave me a number to reach out to directly to ask about monthly passes. Had I known about the negative visceral reaction I was going to receive from inquiring about the monthly passes, I would not have done so.

Amazing customer service! A bag was stolen from my car and then discarded in the garage. The manager found my name in the contents and researched to find my contact info. I live 3 hours away from SLC and had returned home by the time he reached me. He kindly arranged for his relative to bring the bag to my area! His generous act of service went above and beyond!!

For starters their little violation slips don't list anywhere what the actual offense is. I was parked in an almost empty garage after hours doing some stuff for my job. Then the attendant in the booth says his credit card machine is offline and his cash drawer is gone for the night. So I paid $20 for a $10 parking ticket. This company also doesn't have a phone number listed on the slip or a way to pay online. As far as I'm concerned they owe me $10 and they're more than welcome to come by my house to pay me in person.
