2023: About six months ago when I first stepped in this Airforce Recruiting office and that decision had drastically changed my life. My recruiter was TSgt. Howes. He’s been really helpful and informative. Addressed all my questions and concerns. It was an easy processing for me joining the Airforce with this recruiting office! MSgt. Kern was also very helpful and shared a lot of good tips about Airforce career and benefits.

In 2019 I started with absolutely nothing but a backpack full of clothing. When I came in, I had no clue what insane adventure the next four years of my life in the Air Force would turn out to be. The process of enlisting is long, but I PROMISE, it will be worth it if you’re struggling or don’t know where to go in life.
I have deployed twice, been part of massive world events, met people from all walks of life. The USAF teaches you leadership, it teaches you patience. It challenges you in ways you will not conceive of until you take the leap and try.
You WILL make some of the best friends you have ever had. You WILL see things that you would’ve never imagined. You WILL be challenged at times, but you will come out a changed, strong individual because of it.
If you’re hesitant about joining, do it. Even if you only stay in 4-6 years, it is worth it. Take the leap, and fly high.

I came in after looking into the army marines and national guard all promising me things that I wanted without giving me confirmation that these jobs were a tangible possibility. One thing I loved about this recruiting office is that they were honest! Tsgt. Howes was the first person that I spoke to and invited me to come in and talk about what my options were. He was tactful and professional when informing me and answering my questions and when he didn’t know something he would find out and inform me when time permitted. sometimes the other Sgts in the room would even stop what they were doing and help! I was grateful for his honesty, he not only gave me the pros of joining, but also the cons of my specific situation (this type of information is hard to come by with recruiters). Anyone would be lucky to get him as a recruiter. I am currently in tech school for one of my top job choices and it’s all thanks to Sgt Howes!

Word to the wise: I’m 28 I knew what wanted so I was communicative about it and I knew what questions to ask
if you are younger than me,
know what your getting into don’t be afraid of asking questions and don’t expect it to be a dream because it’s not. It will be hard, but it is 100% worth it! Have a goal, and it will get you through the hard times like a breeze.
