When we started with Raven around 6 years ago, I would have rated them at 5 stars. We worked with the owner and he was very customer service oriented and had solid communication. We were the second school site to work with them and they were serving Cheyenne Mountain School District as well. I have even recommended a few local schools work with them. However, the past two years have significantly changed the company.

The company seems to have grown quite a bit now and the owner, James, travels a lot. Understandably, he set up a chain of command as he became less available to work directly with customers. However, he will continue to engage in a long chain of emails in which his tone and response is defensive and unproductive, while also refusing to meet in person, over zoom or on the phone.

After months of expressing frustrations to the site director and having issues with the high turnover of staff (we had 5 different officers in the course of one month), I requested to meet with James. My request was never fulfilled, but instead met with a barrage of defensive emails, deflection and attempts to say that nothing had functionally changed and that maybe my maternity leave taken 9 months ago was clouding my memory. He even mentioned that other companies were waitlisted and they could move on to new clients quickly. The attempts to gaslight my memory were among the final straw issues.

Had James sat down with us, worked through some of the staffing and communication issues, I would have kept our contract. We were even looking to expand to 2 officers this year. Our school wasn't perfect and we needed to improve things on our side too. But it was clear James was now only interested in ignoring the issue or offering bandaid solutions and moving forward.

It's quite disappointing that after more than 6 years of working together, the company seems to have lost some fundamental aspects of why we chose to work with them to begin with.

It appears Cheyenne Mountain School District no longer uses them as well. So that means no schools actively use Raven (according to our assigned site director). The main things I would warn other companies who are considering using them:

1. Constant turnover in staffing, makes it difficult to establish quality relationships with officers if that is what you need for service delivery
2. The company defaults to email communication when there are issues, which is often unproductive and inefficient
3. Owner is unreceptive to critical feedback (see their response below for evidence of that)
4. The company won't share officer phone numbers and doesn't issue them a company cell phone. Walkie talkies are recommended by them. This could work if you have just a few employees who may need to communicate with the onsite officer. This does not work if you have multiple sites and multiple staff who need to reach the officer.
5. Chain of Command established can be ineffective- I will give these officers credit, they are friendly, try to address needs, but I dont believe they are equipped to do so or don't know how
6. Many of the staff say they don't know their weekly schedule and/or know what is going on (including upper level officers).
7. If you give feedback about concerns with a specific officer, expect them to just relocate the officer to a new site rather than work with the person grow as an employee.

If you only need someone to show up and are ok with a rotation of lots of staff, then Raven may be great for you. But I have started to let all schools locally know that this set up is not conducive to the education environment anymore.

I am sure James will read this and the company will likely respond (as I see it has in other low ratings). I wish you the best James, but there are definitely some areas that would benefit from more attention and a return to a service oriented mindset.

Our company recently expanded into a new market Raven came highly recommended and having chosen their services - I can see why. Their staff is amazing. Definitely recommend their services

This company is one of the best I have seen around in a long time. They always respond quickly and are very professional. They can handle any situation that comes their way. I would recommend them to any company or complex that is looking to improve their property and make their people feel safe.

They lay their life on the line too. They use modern technology, phones to do report & answer to superiors. Send reports and talk to central dispatch. so next time you see one of them on the phone it may be doing report or talking to a superior. Men and women trained and certified to be armed security guards to serve the public.

These guys do a great job. We had them provide security for an event at our church and they showed up right on time, we had no issues at all. I highly recommend Raven security.

Would rate zero stars if I were able I have now had three run one with Raven officers all being accused of one thing or another and my husband is tired of them our first incident we had stopped by the springs rescue mission to visit some friends and family and while we were parked waiting on our people to arrive sgt bicknall came over and asked if we were camping we politely said no we were waiting on someone and he said ok and walked off 10 minutes later he came back over said we were trespassing that we needed to leave so we went and parked in a space alittle further down outside another business well he came back and said we were still trespassing so he took my husband's license plate for no reason and my husband had told him he was breaking no laws to hand over his license info he refused and as my husband left he tried to say my husband attempted to run him over so we asked for bodycam footage and they refused to give it to us Everytime we encounter their officers they are extremely rude and I just got off the phone with LT. Stone and he always says he will look into matters and then says they did no wrong and that they refuse to hand over footage of anything sorry to tarnish your 5* review but I am an honest person I have had nothing but trouble with Raven security

Shopping center has had issues with transients and street races. Hired Raven Security and couldn't be happier. Their personnel have done a great job.
